Jordan Valley Medical Center Announces Major Expansion Project
January 2007
Officials at Jordan Valley Medical Center have announced a major construction project totaling more than $46 million. Jordan Valley Medical Center is located in one of Utah's fastest growing areas with an increasing need for more healthcare services. The expansion adds more than 100,000 square feet to the hospital, renovates some existing areas used for hospital services and enables the hospital to add new healthcare services in the future.
"This announcement further demonstrates IASIS Healthcare's commitment to Jordan Valley Medical Center and the patients this hospital serves," said Sandra McRee, President and Chief Operating Officer of IASIS Healthcare® LLC. "Our efforts to constantly improve our facilities, provide state-of-the-art medical technology, and partner with the exceptional physicians on our medical staff enable us to provide our communities with comprehensive health services and the highest level of patient care."

The project at Jordan Valley Medical Center will add three new floors and 95 new beds to the hospital. The $46 million expansion includes nearly 97,000 square feet, a new inpatient rehabilitation unit, two new operating suites, nine new beds in the emergency department, a new laboratory, new space for diagnostic imaging services, and more medical/surgical inpatient beds. Additionally, Jordan Valley will expand its maternity unit with four new labor, delivery and recovery suites. Construction is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2008.
"Our hospital has experienced a dramatic transformation in the past five years, growing from a small 50-bed facility to twice that size, and when this project is complete, we will virtually double again. We've also added a new cardiac catheterization lab, an orthopedics program, and many other specialties, enabling us to provide comprehensive healthcare services for our community," said Bryanie Swilley, CEO of Jordan Valley Medical Center. "As the community continues to grow, we will meet the increasing need for healthcare services by recruiting physicians, expanding the scope of our services, and maintaining our commitment to high-quality care and excellent customer service. We value the trust our patients put in this hospital and its staff and we're excited to have an opportunity to grow."
Both Davis Hospital and Jordan Valley Medical Center underwent multi-million dollar expansions in 2002. With growing populations around both facilities and an ever-increasing demand for health services in these communities, further expansion became an essential part of long-term strategies for growth at these hospitals.
